Some may wonder why we have refitted such a modern boat, being only 4 years old… she was in a good condition when we received her, however we have transformed an uninspired bland canvas by breathing life into certain areas of the boat, to a very high standard, lifting the entire yacht through modern design, luxury materials and high end finishes.
We showcased this yacht at the Southampton International Boat Show 2022 and fittingly, changed the name to ‘The Third Way’ as she demonstrates the value a Setag refit can offer.

We have added a new cockpit cover, reupholstered all seating with new foams for increased comfort and manufactured a painted tabletop with a solid surface inlay.
We have sprayed some of the lockers to tone down the amount of timber aboard, which creates a much more modern feel to the entrance, alongwith replacing a timber sideboard backsplash with a solid surface.
We covered the teak floor with a removable cleanable woven fabric as a practical solution to limit damage to the teak. This material is from a range made from recycled sea plastic.
We have completely uplifted the Saloon using the highest quality materials.
The helmseats have been recovered in Fendi leather with a black detail strip through the centre – with our SY logo in a striking black stitch. All handrails in the Saloon have been recovered and the pouffe has been reupholstered and the timber bridge has been leather wrapped, again to tone down the wood. We have also wrapped the glove box lid in leather and added a full suite of luxury scatter cushions.
The headboard and panel above have both been reupholstered in a modern, bright quality material in the Forward and quilted bed covers have been manufactured for all cabins.
The headboard and panel above have both been replaced in the Master. Removing mirrors in this way is a quick way to create a modern contemporary space. The Hermes material used for the panel above the headboard is no longer available to purchase, therefore, creating a one of a kind piece.
We have remodelled the sofa in a much more modern shape with rounded corners and a drop front to elongate the furniture. Leather panels have been added to both bedside tables and to the sideboard unit.
We have reupholstered the Flybridge seating and Forward sunpads with a modernised design that will stand the test of time – the helmseats are now a proud feature.
Stepping on board, you would think this is a 2022 factory built boat.
The ‘Third Way’ is for sale with Boats.co.uk and can you can find out more below.

“Setag are probably the only company who can carry out all the tasks as a ‘one stop shop’. Other yards were reluctant to price work and needed to subcontract many tasks and others meaning higher costs and significantly longer lead times.” – Owner.

“I had owned and loved my Princess 460 for over 20 years and was considering a new boat purchase.
Previously the opportunity to find a company able to carry out, and update older boats, both internally and externally was impossible. Then I discovered Setag and talked to Chris Gates, Setag’s founder…Chris talked me through all the options and potential that my existing 460 had. We agreed designs and a schedule of works to bring her back to ‘near new’ at a fixed budget. Setag are probably the only company who can carry out all the tasks as a ‘one stop shop’. Other yards were reluctant to price work and needed to subcontract many tasks and others meaning higher costs and significantly longer lead times.
I had a complete makeover to an agreed budget and to a strict timeline. My boat was collected from its berth and returned to provide the complete stress-free solution.
The makeover has put another 20 years life onto my 460, at a fraction of the cost of new. It is to all effect a new boat with wonderful new fabrics, coverings, new teak decks and engine work to guarantee future reliability.
If you are in any doubt speak to Chris and his team, they know boats like no one else.” – Princess 460, Owner.
We conducted a full Engineering audit to ensure the yachts safety and longevity, including –
Refurbished the running gear
Fitted modern sound insulation
Upgraded internal lighting
Fitted new toilet systems
Engine & Generator service
All existing teak on the yacht has been replaced as it was looking very worn and used – including the bathing platform, cockpit and steps – giving the exterior of the boat a new lease of life as soon as you step foot aboard.
Exterior upholstery has all been updated with new foams and a modern design, including new seat covers.
The patio door has been removed, repaired and serviced along with extensive GRP repairs.

The extent of the Saloon refit can be seen here in the Before & After images. Every panel was removed and replaced/recovered, along with timber repairs, newly upholstered sofas & helmseats, blinds, curtains, carpet throughout the boat and resolving several leaks.
The neutral scheme of this project is perfect for invoking a relaxed, sophisticated feel with bold and geometric scatter cushions.
Our Design & Refit projects are so specialist that they not only improve the look and feel, personalised to you – but also address the usability and practicality of your yacht. The owner of this Princess 460, asked us to address his Saloon TV options as he was only able to place a small TV on top of a sideboard unit.
We therefore designed and built a custom TV unit, to pop-up behind a new sofa – modern, discreet and beautifully crafted.
“If you are in any doubt speak to Chris and his team, they know boats like no one else.” – Owner.
All three cabins have had extensive refurbishment including, all sidelining & headlining panels, the headboards & bed surrounds, mattresses, carpets and curtains – bringing them up to modern standards and fit for many years to come.
Adding teak to the Flybridge has made a significant difference to the overall feel, along with reupholstered Flybridge upholstery.
Our trademark logo is in place – showcasing this restored design classic with a contemporary twist, adding value and longevity to a true icon.

“I get great satisfaction out of improving existing yachts and achieving outcomes that surpass factory standards. As a carpenter – problem solving, teamwork and making bespoke units is an enjoyable experience for me. The main enjoyment comes from the high-quality, bespoke outcomes that are always worth the time and effort. Despite the challenges that are faced daily, seeing the project at the completion stage makes it all worthwhile.” – Matt Judge, SETAG Craftsman.

This Sunseeker 75 project is one of our most extensive projects with a very dramatic transformation – one which, like all our projects, we are immensely proud of.
The project comprises of an entire interior refit – transforming the yacht into a contemporary modern space, oozing sophisticated hotel glamour. The owner has been heavily involved in the design – which is inspired by one of their favourite photographs – now inset in the bulkhead, proudly on display in their master cabin.
We significantly reduced the amount of timber on display throughout the whole boat by adding material or leather, in a much brighter colour palette – whilst also replacing every original headining and sidelining throughout the boat.
We have reviewed the design of the Saloon headlining, firstly considering various lighting moods adding sophisticated contemporary feel – this has evolved the creation of a complete new headlining.
The two aft Saloon sofas, along with the Dinette sofa have all considerably reduced in size, yet increased in comfort – opening up the space and the floor area.
The Dinette table had a large unit/leg underneath – which along with the bulky sofa, created a cramped feeling…on a large yacht. The area was too busy with heavy pieces of furniture dominating the space. We have now designed and manufactured two beautiful pillar legs for the table that work with the scheme and offer more space for socialising. The table legs are a real feature with one side covered in a light leather with a stainless strip through the centre and the inside covered in teal suede.
A new contemporary table top takes pride of place in the Dinette, with a solid surface insert for practicality – surrounded by a beautifully painted edge colour matched to the leather, creating a flow with the rest of the scheme.
You will notice the sidelinings in this area before were particularly bad before, from years of sun damage.
The Galley front before was lackluster in its design with leather pads to the upper section of the unit – now it has become a significant feature of the Saloon refit. We have wrapped the entire front in beautiful stitch detailed leather and added a feature teal strip through the centre for that added visual effect.
The helm station has been updated with the latest Raymarine technology, new panels for the equipment and an entire respray of the dash to blend with the surrounding areas.
We have used the existing carcass of the helm seat – covering it in a beautiful teal leather for the more functional areas, and a colour matched suede for the centre of the seat, with our trademark logo in pride of place.
Throughout the entire scheme, we have specified several sustainable materials:
The fabrics for each Cabin headboard are environmentally conscious, sustainable materials made from waste plastic bottles. Each fabric is fully recyclable, meaning they have been repurposed for future use – similarly to the yacht they now sit within – making the fabric and yacht ‘circular’ in nature.
These fabric suppliers have partnered with the Marine Conservation Society and Trees For Life, and for every metre of fabric sold, a percentage of proceeds are donated to help protect our seas, shores and wildlife, and restoration projects.
The stunning dark teal carpet which runs throughout the entire yacht – specified to tone down the yellow timber – is an eco-friendly tip-sheared carpet created using plastic waste recovered from the world’s oceans.
The entire design scheme for the refit was inspired by the owners favourite photograph – now inset in the bulkhead, proudly on display.
As with all areas aboard – all headlings & sidelings have been replaced, curved leather has been added to the sideboard units to reduce the amount of exposed timber. The headboards beautiful fluting pattern has also been applied to the Stateroom sofa backrest.
We have covered the vanity unit original Sunseeker stools in the Master and the Forward Cabin – with the suede that is seen elsewhere on board, with beautiful stitch detailing and a leather wrapped handle.
When we received the boat, the Forward Cabin had suffered a very bad leak – subsequently the headlining panels were in an extremely poor condition, along with some of the sidelinings – we of course, rectified the leak to ensure there would be no further damage. The cabin is now totally transformed into a stunning relaxing area for guests to enjoy.
Each cabin has a set of custom luxury bedding designed specifically to match the theme associated with that cabin – shown in the colour strip detail on the duvet cover and within the scatter cushions.
As with all cabins, we have brightened each space by replacing all the headlining, sidelining and window liners with lighter, more modern fabric – lifting each space into a contemporary relaxing cabin ready to unwind. All blinds have been replaced with venetian blinds – colour matched to the sidelining material ensuring they blend into the background and don’t distract from the Remastered beauty.
Each cabin now has Porta Romana wall lights, which have become beautiful features.
All cabins have been transformed into areas you would be proud to host your guests in – and the whole yacht now has that new boat feeling, smell and look to rival products new from factory today.
The majority of the refurbishment took place internally however, we have used the same design language for the Cockpit and Flybridge table tops, as we have in the Dinette, tying all three together.
We have also replaced the Flybridge teak as it was looking very dated. Stripping old teak and replacing with new is incredibly labour intensive, but extremely satisfying seeing the deck totally transformed.
The Upper helm station has also been updated with the latest Raymarine technology, new panels for the equipment and several gel repairs to where we have removed redundant equipment – transforming this into a modern helm station.
