Saloon

This ‘classic yacht’ inspired interior brings an open and fresh feeling to this Princess V70 saloon. Classic in its mood and general palette – this interior is brought up to date with this use of matte lacquer, bold patterned cushions and simplified sofa shaping.

The colour palette for this scheme has a classic sophistication quality about it.

A base of natural matte linen weaves compliments the deep gloss timber. Rich details of tan embossed leather are cooled with denim blue pattern and oyster matte lacquer accents achieving a welcoming environment echoing the design standard of newly launched yachts today.

Main Saloon

For this 34M Saloon we wanted to create the feeling of a slick city apartment using the generous proportions within this area – now significantly increased by removing the central bulkhead, enabling us to create that free standing feeling to the furniture design and layout within.

At the aft end, two comfortable armchairs by Holly Hunt allow for multi directional viewing due to their clever and elegant swivel base design. Also within the aft area, we have built feature storage units with beautiful top stitched leather doors and marble tops, to both port and starboard side – which are similar in design to the dining credenza’s. Additionally, the feature bronze tint mirror to the back provides extra storage to suit your needs. Setting the curtains to the port and starboard sides outboard of the headlining lighting panels further relaxes and softens the feeling of the space. For extra privacy we have added Venetian blinds to each of the windows in a soft taupe colour.

Dining Saloon

At the dining end of the saloon we have specified ten luxurious, yet comfortable Holly Hunt leather dining chairs. Overhead, two sculptural light fittings create a soft practical glow over the gloss starburst Macassar ebony timber dining table. The forward dining bulkhead features five backlit Calacatta Oro marble panels that add a stunning soft glow and create a luxurious rich feature within this area. Either side of the dining table we have installed elegant and practical dining credenza’s, crafted with top stitched leather door fronts and marble tops – fixed centrally to the marble top are two feature glass and metal table lamps.

With finishes including bronze tinted mirror, opulent marbles, plush velvets, leather and silks, and a combination of exquisite gloss and matte timbers, this interior provides a high-end city luxurious apartment feel we were so keen to achieve.

Saloon

The Fairline 78 main deck layout provides a great basis for a more divided seating and dining area approach. This really gave us the opportunity to create quite a residential lounge feeling to the aft seating area. It was important to replace the previously tired carpet with a more durable tighter pile, which now also runs over the central step to avoid the illusion of cutting the space in two. We removed and replaced the outboard timber bulkheads with a fresh textural weave to significantly open the space – but to fully achieve that luxurious yet comfortable elegance, a complete bespoke redesign of the corner sofa was essential. We softened the previously blocky cushions by adding additional comfort and sculpting to the seats and backrests; this statement corner piece has been finished in the highest quality material that is suitable both for indoor and outdoor use, ensuring that you can relax in it straight from the water.

Master Cabin

The design of the master cabin follows in the footsteps of the main saloon – but in a more subtle manner. The contrasting opulence of the saloon is gently softened here with the introduction of a deep moss green tone and more relaxed patterning, ensuring this cabin will feel as calming as it is luxurious. Crafted joinery and fresh linens are enhanced with plantation shutters, achieving an informal yet tailored finish. Beautifully crafted and made to measure, the plantation shutters provide that all-important near-blackout function. This scheme, specified with organic bed linen, ensures a relaxed and toxin-free night’s sleep. An intricate saddle-stitched detail adorns the soft headboard leather, while extra height and comfort have also been added to make this statement piece as comfortable as it is beautiful. The bed base, still with ample storage, is now wrapped in an oyster colour leather to match the headboard (also showcasing the beautiful saddle-stitch detailing).

The intricate details are echoed in the design and execution of the starboard sofa. The use of considered and crafted stitches on this piece shows our attention to detail even on the simplest of furniture shapes. As per the saloon, we have removed the strong contrast square within the headlining design, replacing it with a soft linen fabric and oyster colour matte lacquer, creating light textural interest. The introduction of flexible bed reading lights completes a sophisticated, functional and beautiful cabin design. Previously dated door hardware has been removed and replaced with high-end handles that are beautifully wrapped in hand-stitched leather, for that final layer of considered quality upon entering your bespoke cabin.

Saloon

The brief for this project was to create a more residential and calming feel to the space, whilst enhancing the original attributes of the saloon and dining area. This design invites you into a comfortable lounge area with ample seating for friends and family to enjoy a well-earned tipple or canapé. Two curvaceous loose armchairs by high-end furniture designer Holly Hunt open the space on the starboard side and provide a sense of homeliness, where you can settle down with a good book or enjoy the views aft through the cockpit. Exquisitely crafted chevron timber flooring now runs seamlessly into the helm area. Within the timber at the aft end of the saloon sits a shimmering rug insert by Kelly Wearstler at the Rug Company. The grey blue colouration and wave-like patterning hints at the open seas, immediately drawing your attention to the views on both the port and starboard.

Beyond, the staircase bulkhead has been calmed, with the use of additional timber panelling and a beautifully simple but high-quality wall light fitting. Finally, by updating the previously dark window linings and sideboard frontage with much fresher choices, we have achieved a calming, elegant and modern space fit for today’s standard. The overall colour palette of grey and ink blues, deep moss green and fresh oyster whites further adds to the sense of tranquillity and provides a calming haven.

Master Cabin

The master cabin continues the language of the main saloon, with a restful ethos at the heart of the design. The use of custom-crafted plantation shutters not only adds a tailored luxury finish but also provides the ability to achieve a much higher level of blackout than other more conventional window dressings.

A beautiful contrast is achieved between deep gloss Macassar Ebony timber bulkheads and the fresh woven, patterned fabric to the headboard bulkhead. Elegant ceramic wall artwork with a dreamlike quality has been installed to optimise the feeling of tranquillity in this space. Underneath, the now plump headboard has been raised in height for extra comfort. The curvaceous language seen in the saloon is echoed with a hero dressing table chair by Italian designers Ceccotti, while the shapely breakfast chairs are custom-sized to suit this space perfectly. The breakfast table and bedside tables now showcase beautiful marble tops, which not only lift the space visually but also provide a practical solution. The elegant saddle-stitched leather that wraps the base of the breakfast table is beautifully echoed as a wrap around the side tables.

The headlining in both the saloon and master cabin has been simplified and lightened, adding in a fresh, hard finish with light textural material that provides extra interest on closer inspection. With its tranquil colour palette, ultra-comfortable bed and deeply plush carpet, this is now the perfect place to unwind after a long day at sea or a delicious supper at your nearby marina.

We cannot recommend the SETAG team highly enough. If you love your current boat, then for a fraction of the cost to change it, have it SETAG’d. The SY branding certainly helped us obtain a premium price. We got what we paid for her in 2017 plus what we spent with you!

The perfect way to open up a new market: the "true reflection of luxury". Setag gets it: simplicity and personalisation are key – with the depth of knowledge to deliver.
James Barke – Managing Director of Boats.co.uk
Setag are probably the only company who can carry out all the tasks as a ‘one stop shop’. Other yards were reluctant to price work and needed to subcontract many tasks meaning higher costs and longer lead times. If you are in any doubt speak to Chris and his team, they know boats like no one else.
Delighted SETAG customer - Princess 460 Owner
